The teams were even at half time.Weather conditions proved for from ideal in the second half. The Ursuline team managed to score putting them 5 points ahead. As the match progressed, Carrick were awarded a penalty.

Despite their great efforts and a Helen Monaghan free, they were unfortunate to lose out on a score line of 3-2 to 1-6. Both teams played extremely well despite the difficult weather conditions. The Ursulines displayed great determination and teamwork right to the very end.

They can certainly look forward with confidence to the U16 Connaught championship next year. Special congratulations must be paid to Kate Gonley , Ursuline’s corner back, who was named player of the match for her excellent display of defence throughout.
